Also designed by Tadao Ando, the Ice Chapel in Hokkaido is the only ice chapel in Asia, open exclusively in winter. Entirely sculpted from ice, its domed sanctuary features an illuminated ice crucifix and altar. At –30°C, its crystalline walls and mirrored surfaces reflect hues of blue and white, creating a sacred glow. Couples exchange vows upon frozen ground, sealing their love in an eternal imprint of ice while sharing a passionate kiss amidst Ando's minimalist beauty.
